The trail head at Salt Water Creek is located a short distance south of Death Valley on 127, just barely outside of the park. There is a small parking lot with room for a few cars. It is unremarkable from the road, but the hike is very interesting and well worth the effort. It was easy to spend a half day, and we would have explored further if time permitted. We saw 9 chuckwallas.
