We drove most of the day arriving in Ensenada about 5 pm. During the day Jason checked to be sure the part we ordered was on its way to Chula Vista Ford. To our relief all was going as planned, and the part was due to arrive te next morning. We found a lovely RV park right on the ocean, called Ramona’s RV park. A nice man name Julio ran the park.
On the way down to the beach was a beautifully manicured garden walkway.
The gardener was accumulating a pile of debris in a wheel barrow while he tended the plants. As we walked down, he dumped it over the edge right next to his garden. Out of sight out of mind I guess. It was probably taken away by the tide each night. I hoped it was only plant debris and not plastic.
We walked along the shoreline enjoying a cocktail, and admired the intricate stone work on the cliffs. Many different styles of masonry seemed to be holding up the walls.
Each section was made from a different type of rock. It was a pleasant shoreline, except for the rotting dead sea lion which reeked all the way to the truck. Jason and Cy dragged it to the water, dropped a big rock on it, and the smell went away immediately.
I’d heard there was a big decliine in the sardine fishery this year and sea lions were dying in droves up and down the coast. I thought sadly this one might be a victim of that.
It was lovely to take a shower! I itched with grime! The showers were clean and mostly warmish. We enjoyed the view while we ate dinner.
