We decided to head back home through Big Pine, rather than take the dirt road back through Death Valley. Along the way there were many blooming cacti. The road went all the way up to 7500 feet through part of the Inyo National Forest. At certain elevations, Joshua Trees abounded. It looked like another area we’d like to explore in the future.
